Honor Roll
The mission of Day for Kids is much larger than any one organization. It's about galvanizing national attention on the importance of spending meaningful time with children. The following youth-serving community and educational organizations have joined the cause because they support a national day to celebrate and honor America's youth!
America’s Promise Alliance
The Alliance for Youth is committed to mobilizing
all sectors and every interested community across America to
ensure that every child has the five fundamental resources,
or Five Promises: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start,
an effective education, and opportunities to help others.
Association
of Children's Museums
Children's museums are safe gathering places where families
can learn and play with other families in their communities.
The Association of Children's Museums (ACM) is an international
professional organization representing and advocating for its
member institutions. Click on Visit a Children's Museum on ACM's
Web site to find a children's museum near you and learn about
its current exhibits, programs, special events and age specific
activities and services.
Association
for Library Service to Children
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division
of the American Library Association, develops and supports the
profession of children's librarianship by enabling and encouraging
its practitioners to provide the best library service to the nation's
children. ALSC is interested in the improvement and extension
of library services to children in all types of libraries.
Communities
In Schools
For more than 25 years, Communities In Schools has helped students
choose success by ensuring their access to the "Five Basics":
· A
one-on-one relationship with a caring adult
· A
safe place to learn and grow
· A
healthy start and a healthy future
· A
marketable skill to use upon graduation
· A
chance to give back to peers and community
The
Home Safety Council®
(HSC) is the only national nonprofit
organization solely dedicated to preventing home related injuries
that result in nearly 20,000 deaths and 21 million medical visits
on average each year. Through national programs, partnerships and
the support of volunteers, HSC educates people of all ages to be
safer in and around their homes. The Home Safety Council is a 501©(3)
